Although Jambo 2010 has been a "Sell Out" for participant registration, we are still accepting applications for anyone wishing to be a part of this fantastic experience as a "Jambo Staff Member"!
Jambo just would'nt be Jambo if it were not for the dedicated people who apply to Jambo as "Staff"! Some staff members come back every to be a part of this wonderful experience.
Find that hard to believe? Well, check out our Guest Book read some of our team members comments! Still don't think so......Well let me tell you the story about Scouter Randy.
Scouter Randy has been at every Jambo since, well we're not absolutely sure when Randy joined the team, but he's been returning to Jambo for several years. Randy was a little shy at first, and his short legs were out of proportion to his long arms. But from the first moment Skip met Randy he knew exactly in which event to place him, that Skip was sure he would love, Rope Climbing or the Monkey Bridge! Sure enough, Scouter Randy was a hit! And Jambo has welcomed him back to the Jambo team every year since! We've even got some video of Randy in action so you can see for yourself.

Welcome to the 9th Great Lakes Jamboree
The longest continuous running Jambo in Ontario
2010 Let's Do It Again!

On behalf of the staff I would like to extend an invitation to all Scouts, Scouters, Guides and Guiders within the World Brotherhood of Scouting and Guiding to attend and be part of this wonderful Jamboree experience.
The dates for this Jamboree of Fun, Challenging Adventure are
July 10 – 17, 2010.
Jambo 9 will be at Camp BEL at Dorchester near London Ontario!! Some of the Jambo program areas have been modified based on test programs we ran in 2008. When you read the full package you will notice that the hike program has been tweaked again with new locations for the day hike area and how it has been modified. The overnight 25 KM hike on the Bruce Trail for senior Scouts has been lengthened slightly.
The main on-site villages have also been modified to allow for more hands on time for each youth using the village. Brent and his team which ran such a great overnight Brownsea challenge will be back bringing the number of onsite villages to 7 from 5 in 2008. A full 5 nights of Subcamp program with 2 nights of camp wide program. There are 2 levels of canoe action, repel towers, climbing wall, archery, rifle ranges, blacksmith forge, 2 levels of hikes and much more. Special Opening and Closing ceremonies will add to your Jamboree Adventure.
The mystery tour out trip that was so well received last
Jambo has been added to so that it will be a Troop favourite. As well we have added a second, different Mystery tour for returning Troops so you get a new experience from 2008. We have also added a “Geocaching Adventure” day program for off-site action as well.
Cost for the Jamboree is $225 / youth, $100 /leader, plus your troop registration fee. This includes everything except your food and how you get to the site and home again. We are always looking to maintain the price as low as possible while providing the best activities and experience for your Troop. As a team, we feel this is still the best deal anywhere for your youth in the summer of 2010.
Scouters, I urge you to read and share the details inside of this package with your youth to see how you and your Troop can have a GREAT summer Jamboree experience.
Act Quick! We will be cutting off registrations at 700. Don’t miss out!
Yours In Scouting
